Did you know about Chris Moncus Photography?

Monday, April 6th, 2009

If you’ve been following along or dropping by now and then you’ve probably noticed that photography has been a big part of this website/blog. Well not too long ago I launched ChrisMoncusPhoto.com and officially launched Chris Moncus Photography! Amanda and I realized we never officially announced it over here so consider it announced!

The best place to start would probably be the blog. It’ll give you a glimpse into who we are, how we work, and what we do.

We are located in the Golden Isles of Georgia and spend most of our time shooting weddings, portraits, and sports on St. Simons Island, Jekyll Island, and Brunswick, GA. We are available for destination shoots as well.

Stop by and maybe leave a comment or two.

Lindsay and James Wedding Teaser (photos)

Sunday, January 4th, 2009

Amanda and I had an awesome time last Tuesday shooting Lindsay and James’ wedding at Epworth by the Sea on St. Simons Island. They said their vows inside the beautiful Lovely Lane Chapel. The room was full with loved ones and by the time it started was standing room only. The couple and their attendants were a joy to work with and weren’t afraid of the camera. The mother of the bride made our day by handing us a two-page schedule. It was so much easier to coordinate with all involved with that schedule in hand.

So my excitement aside, here is a teaser of the pictures to come.

Jingle Jam Backstage Pass

Monday, December 22nd, 2008

Last night was Jingle Jam and it was a blast! Our children’s department at SSCC wanted to have a Christmas service just for kids so they reenacted A Charlie Brown Christmas live on stage. They did a fantastic job!

Fred, Shroder in the show, whipped out his Treo and grabbed some back stage footage that I’m in and I thought I’d share it with you guys.

Pictures will be up soon (I hope).

Debt-Free Photographers Class

Tuesday, December 16th, 2008

Just saw something that made my morning. The Professional Photographers of America’s next set of webinars includes one on getting out of debt with specific applications on photography businesses and photographers. It’s called “Debt Is Normal, So Be Weird” and up front describes this class with the phrase “Get out of debt…Dave Ramsey style!”

It does my heart good to see that people are getting a clue and learning that a life lived on credit is no life at all and is risky as risky can be.

Even if you’re not a photographer I highly suggest taking a look at Dave Ramsey’s website. Listening to this dude’s wisdom has changed mine and Amanda’s lives already.
