Don’t Delete Your Adobe CS3 Goodies

Tuesday, November 4th, 2008

A word of warning from Dave Cross: Save all of your CS3 goodies before upgrading to CS4. This includes all the brushes, patterns, shapes, and plugins. You don’t need to save the application, just the extras folders. For instance, here’s what to save in Photoshop CS3

Look for similar items in each of your CS3 (or earlier if you haven’t upgraded in a while) folders and save them.

According to Dave Cross, some of these items are not present in CS4. If you wanna watch the Photoshop TV containing this tip, go watch it!

My copy is on the way and should be here soon. I can’t wait.

Wedding Photography 2007

Wednesday, March 26th, 2008

2007 was a fun year for me as a part-time photographer. I got to shoot five different weddings and loved it. In fact, i just shot my first wedding of 2008. I’ll have those up soon.

If you’re interested, here are some photos from each wedding I shot in 2007. If you like what you see, spread the word. I’d love to shoot more this year. Plus, I cost a lot less than other photographers in the area. *wink wink*

Inside Out

Thursday, March 6th, 2008

Our youth group at SSCC ‚Äì named “Inside Out” ‚Äì is doing a series called “Inside Out” to try and re-center the youth on the idea that God is trying to change us from the inside out to become more like Him. Jon, our youth minister, asked me to make an XBox-looking graphic for the series to put on the screens and to print as posters on our brand new Canon 36-inch wide format printer (SWEET!).

InsideOut

So anyways, I got to work and out came this. It’s all from scratch except for the font called “1979″ that I got from dafont.com.

I hope you like it enough to steal it and use it at your church. This is big enough to print 24″x36″ or to drop down low enough and use on the screen. Please let me know if you use it by leaving a comment.

SSCC Guest Card

Friday, February 22nd, 2008

Hey guys. I need your help. As a visitor to a church, what do you think about this? Does it gather enough information without asking too much? Do you feel like the church cares for you and isn’t just trying to get cards so they can bug you? Do you have any other feelings? Are there any errors?

I’d appreciate a look. Thanks!

Jared and Amy Crosby Wedding Photos

Monday, February 18th, 2008

Photos from another wedding I shot in 2007. This time it was for Jared, Amanda’s brother, and his wife Amy. They got married on October 1, 2007 on Jekyll Island, GA.

That day was probably the hardest shoot I’ve ever had. Don’t get me wrong, the wedding was put together very well, especially on two week’s notice, by Amanda’s mom. It was hard on my end because the weather resembled a hurricane approaching. Dark skies and fast winds made for hard shooting for me (dark = hard to shoot action in low light plus it removes energy from the photos) and for the people I took pictures of (wind = veils, hair, and everything else blowing all sorts of ways). Neeless to say, it was interesting.

So, here’s a few of the photos. More on my flickr account.
