SSCC Baptism – July 12, 2009

Monday, July 13th, 2009

One of my favorite things SSCC does is pool baptisms. Here’s a panorama (17 shots) of David speaking to the group right before it began.

Sunday Setlists: Just a Techie on Video

Sunday, March 8th, 2009

Youth music today was great. As most of you in the church saw today, many clocks were not sprung forward. Still, lateness wasn’t much of an issue with our youth band. They practiced and played “Jesus Paid It All” and “Glorious One” really well. On my media side, my techies rocked. I had a newbie on lights who did fantastic (first time solo) and two other amazing guys on sound and lyrics/video. Seriously, these high schoolers are probably the best I’ve ever worked with. Good job guys.

In addition, I made it to Fred McKinnon’s worship confessional (below) by accident. He probably stole all my music stands from the youth room so I had to go steal one back. (Just joking, Fred. It was probably Travis).

I Went to LifeChurch in My Living Room Today

Sunday, February 8th, 2009

Today I had off from SSCC. Originally Amanda and I were going to take a small vacation today but decided to put it off to later. Instead we chilled at the house and slept in today. Amanda went and picked us up some McDonalds breakfast and we tuned into LifeChurch.tv for church. It’s really amazing to be able to be able to join a service online with chat, responses, music, notes, and a message. Don’t forget the online Bible at YouVersion.com.

Music-wise, they did:

  • Leelad – Count Me In
  • MercyMe – God With Us
  • Delirious – We Give You Praise
  • Future of Forestry – Gazing

The music was done well. It was energetic. The band was into their music and I couldn’t find a music stand on set.

The message is part of a series called True-ish dealing with the gray areas of life. Today dealt with relativism, judging others, and being a “bad” person. Amanda and I really enjoyed it.

If you’ve never experienced it, do so next time you can. They are live on Saturday at 6:30am and 8:00pm CST; Sunday at 10:00am GMT, 10:00am, 11:30am, and 1:00pm CST; Monday at 8:00pm GMT and 8:00pm CST; and Tuesday at 12:00pm and 8:00pm CST. More info at their internet campus

Have a good Sunday. I hope your services went well.
