SSCC Baptism – July 12, 2009

Monday, July 13th, 2009

One of my favorite things SSCC does is pool baptisms. Here’s a panorama (17 shots) of David speaking to the group right before it began.

Who on Earth is Chris Moncus?

Wednesday, March 11th, 2009

It’s an answer I’m honestly after. “Scattered and busy” would be a good start. I like being busy. I don’t like being scattered.

I am a husband, a designer, a photographer, a tech guy, a musician, a Christian, a blogger, and a wreck some times.

I want God to focus me. I want to fill my life with God’s plan and not the excess stuff that gets in His way.

So this is my ask for your prayers.

I want to have time to chill out and seek Him. That’s been getting neglected. So has my family. Neither them or God should get my leftovers.

Thanks for your prayers.

Sunday Setlists: Just a Techie on Video

Sunday, March 8th, 2009

Youth music today was great. As most of you in the church saw today, many clocks were not sprung forward. Still, lateness wasn’t much of an issue with our youth band. They practiced and played “Jesus Paid It All” and “Glorious One” really well. On my media side, my techies rocked. I had a newbie on lights who did fantastic (first time solo) and two other amazing guys on sound and lyrics/video. Seriously, these high schoolers are probably the best I’ve ever worked with. Good job guys.

In addition, I made it to Fred McKinnon’s worship confessional (below) by accident. He probably stole all my music stands from the youth room so I had to go steal one back. (Just joking, Fred. It was probably Travis).

I Got E-Card-ed

Tuesday, December 16th, 2008

“E-Card” is now a verb apparently.

I got contacted through flickr by Liberty Baptist Church in Dalton, GA about using last year’s SSCC Christmas series art for “Be Still” as an e-card for their church. Sure, anything I can do to help someone get the message of God’s love out. So here’s what they came up with followed by my original.

Elevate: First Shoot With My New Lens

Thursday, December 11th, 2008

Tuesday I got my new lens in and had to try it out ASAP. Being at work and busy kinda got in the way. So I had to wait until Elevate that night to really put it through its paces.

Lemme say that this lens made my night. It was such a breeze to use as it focussed quickly and was amazingly sharp, even in low light. The 2.8 aperture gave me enough light to get crisp shots even in a really dim room during the worship set.

I didn’t shoot a ton but got these six keepers. Whatcha think?

I’ll have some more shots later from Wednesday night’s Inside Out.
